Remote beach front lodge that catering to Alaskan adventure seekers! 8 guest rooms with private cabins overlooking the pristine waters of Prince William Sound. Day adventures include fishing, paddleboarding and kayaking. Week long excursions include fishing, diving and photography tours.
As the largest single species salmon hatchery in North America, It has a permitted capacity of 250 M. Pink Salmon & 2 M. Coho (Silver) Salmon eggs. Visitors to the Hatchery experience a self-guided tour, signs & other visual aids about salmon aquaculture & hatchery operations.
Travel with the local experts through the fjords and passageways of Prince William Sound to Meares or Columbia Glacier. View amazing wildlife such as seals, sea otters, sea lions, whales, and porpoise as well as marine birdlife like puffins. Two tours daily, beginning mid-May through mid–September.
The Valdez Museum occupies two buildings. On Egan Dr. we present stories about Native Culture, early explorers, the 1898 Gold Rush, aviation, the oil industry, and a selection of temporary exhibits. On Hazelet Ave. we highlight exhibits about the 1964 Good Friday Earthquake and “Old Town” Valdez.
