Wrangell St. Elias
Take a detour off the Richardson Highway to visit Wrangell St. Elias, America's largest national park.
The park contains Mt. St. Elias, the second highest peak in North America (if you're wondering what the first highest peak is, that's Denali, also in Alaska).
Visitors Center
The Wrangell St. Elias National Park Visitors Center is located just off the Richardson Highway, about nine miles north of Copper Center. The Visitors Center is joined nearby by the Ahtna Cultural Center, and several accessible hiking trails including the Boreal Forest Trail.
